Welcome to Eden’s Farm Sanctuary – We are a Registered Charitable Organization in Kamloops, BC, Canada that provides a life-long home and care to rescued farm animals. Eden's Way Farm Sanctuary is devoted to rescuing and caring of former farm animals who have been neglected, abused, abandoned, or surrendered as well as promoting humane and compassionate farm animal education to the public. This mission will be put into action by providing:
-A high-quality forever home for rescued farm animals that promotes their well-being and flourishing.
-A place where members of the public can interact with farm animals in their natural environments through various programs, including visitation and volunteer programs.
-Educational and community outreach programs and events where people can learn about farm animals and ways to promote cruelty-free and compassionate care for them. The vision for Eden’s Way Farm Sanctuary is to show people there is another way – the way of compassion that is extended to our fellow creatures we share this world with and to be part of creating a future where people, animals, and the natural world can all thrive and flourish together. Irs $5 Friday — And Zachariah Needs His People 🐴💙

You’ve seen him racing the storm. You’ve seen him grazing majestically along the river. Today we’re sharing the fuller picture of our beautiful boy Zachariah — and asking for your help.

Zach is getting into his mid-20s and has two significant health conditions that require ongoing care and medication for the rest of his life:

👁️ Uveitis — he is blind in one eye and slowly losing vision in the other. This requires careful ongoing management and special eye drops during flareups. He also has to wear a UV protection fly mask — which he tolerates with great displeasure.

🏥 Cushing’s Disease — he was recently diagnosed with this condition and had a mild laminitic incident. Along with his grass eating days largely over 😞, Zach will now be on medication for life to manage this metabolic disorder.

Despite all of this, Zachariah remains one of the most magnificent souls at Eden’s Way. He deserves the very best care going forward — and we’re looking for one or more special people to help make that possible.

Happy Thanksgiving/Thanksliving 🍂🍁 Today, Linus deserves to be in the spotlight of our sanctuary!

If you’ve been following along, you know that Linus has been slowing down this year. Arthritis has caused increasing lameness and more time spent resting than patrolling the property grounds. As a commercially bred turkey, his body has carried more than it was ever designed to bear — and at 3? years old, we know our time with him is precious and finite. We are thankful for every day he has and especially his good days. Today, he found a cozy spot to lay down and enjoy the warm sunny fall day. What a memorable picture this will always be!

This weekend we’re also reminded of the word that is now often preferred over Thanksgiving — Thanksliving. We are incredibly thankful to be able to provide a sanctuary to Linus and all our residents. From our sanctuary family to yours — we wish you a peaceful and compassionate Thanksgiving weekend filled with gratitude for the living beings who share this world with us. 🍂💚

On Thursday evening little Beatty went into GI stasis — and if you know rabbits, you know how serious and life threatening this can be. Every minute counts.

We were able to get him seen urgently on Friday by our wonderful rabbit vet Dr. Reid at oriolevet, and thankfully with medication and supportive care he is eating again and looking much more like himself today. 🙏

The x-rays brought some reassuring news — no visible tumours, which was a very real concern given that both of Beatty’s siblings, Flower and Avery, developed them. His teeth also looked good. We did find some arthritis in his spine, and while we aren’t entirely sure what triggered the stasis this time, we’ll be focusing on pain management and monitoring him very closely going forward.

For those unfamiliar, GI stasis is one of the most dangerous conditions a rabbit can experience. Their digestive systems must keep moving — when they stop, it can become fatal very quickly. It’s a condition that may require immediate veterinary attention and is one of the reasons I monitor our rabbits so carefully every single day.
