As we set our clocks forward, many people were heading out to the Bob Trudeau Memorial Spring Run Off. Our St, John Ambulance Medical First Responder volunteers are honoured to be able to provide our services for this event. Kamloops First responders answered the call last Thursday morning at Riverside Park as they responded to a request to raise funds for Special Olympics British Columbia. Kamloops RCMP officers, Kamloops Firefighters, Sheriffs, Rocky Mountain Rangers, St. John Ambulance Medical First Responder volunteers, all could be seen running into the river as part of the over 50 participants for the annual Polar Plunge. Their efforts were were rewarded as Special Olympics exceed their fundraising goals.
Constable Sofie Winkels of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment and event organizer with the Special Olympics. “We surpassed our fundraising goals and raised a total of $5040.00.”

Congratulations to the TRU Wolfpack Women's Volleyball team on their amazing win over the Manitoba Bisons, They are heading for the Nationals for the first time in the history of the team. Our St. John Ambulance Medical First Responder volunteers were proud to be able to be asked to supply our services for the quarter final games over the last 3 nights.
