Honk honk! Calling all caregivers with kiddos ages 0-5 in the 2SLGBTQ+ community! Goose & Goslings Group is a free eight week program made just for you! 🪿

Connect with your little goslings and members of the 2SLBGTQ+ community through songs, rhymes, and story time facilitated by Neevesha (she/they) and Mo (they/them). Join us weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00pm - 7:00pm in October and November (Oct 6 - Nov 24) at the BGC, John Tod Centre, 150 Wood St. Eight spots available and registration required.

Accessibility:
• Ramps at building entrance, building is one level with no incline changes
• Push button door at entrance, open door for programming
• Gender neutral washroom, single stall with changing table
• Multiple seating options including chairs, cushions, blankets/mats
• Low lighting and sounds
• Blankets and fidgets available and you're welcome to bring your own comfort/support items
• Short break and snacks halfway through each session
• Allergies and dietary requirements will be followed carefully
• Program is delivered in English
• Facilitated by 2SLGBTQ+ community members who have experience with youth and certification with Parent-Child Mother Goose Program
• John Tod Centre, 150 Wood Street is accessible by city bus routes 1, 2, and 3 with a 5-7 minute walk

Non-voting Role Openings!

Kamloops Pride has several positions on the board that do not vote on matters of the society, but that play a key role in our programs and community.

The Asset Manager reports to the Admin Assistant and helps the board manage physical assets stored in the Kamloops Pride storage locker. Skills needed for this position are organization and communication. A vehicle and driver’s license would also be beneficial.

The Rainbrews Lead reports to the Vice President, and runs the Kamloops Pride monthly pub social night. This includes making a reservation, setting out flags and activities, and socializing with attendees. The Rainbrews Lead’s meal is covered. Strong social skills and light event planning skills are needed for this position.

Communications Coordinator
The communications coordinator is responsible for all Kamloops Pride’s communications with the community, including website, social media, and press releases. They work closely with the board executive (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Admin Assistant) to create and distribute communication and media about Kamloops Pride’s events and programs.

Qualifications:
Strong Communication
Organization
Knowledge of major social media platforms
Knowledge of website building
Ability to not be upset by criticism online

Duties:
Run all official Kamloops Pride social media channels
Manage and update the KP website.
Create graphics, ads, and marketing materials
Manage event advertising and promotion
Field media requests and pass them on to the President or Vice President.
Write press releases and other communications

Director of Youth Engagement
The Director of Youth Engagement is responsible for all Kamloops Pride’s youth related activities, and collaborations with youth organizations and GSAs. They work closely with the Vice President and the events committee to plan youth events and programs.

Qualifications:
Event planning
Experience planning events or programming for 2SLGBTQPIA+ community
Experience working with youth

Duties:
Plan and run youth-focused events
Respond to youth engagement email inquiries
Work with school districts, GSAs, and youth organizations
Create resources for youth
Foster youth inclusion

🌈Create✨ Do you love event planning and creating safe spaces for the q***r community? Help Kamloops Pride in our mission to promote a more flourishing 2SLGBTQPIA+ community and culture in Kamloops.

🪴Grow ☀️Have experience with non-profit organizations and want to learn more about how a society is run? As a volunteer board member, you will gain hands-on opportunities to grow your knowledge and responsibility.

🦄Belong 💖The basic commitment for all board members is 10 hours of volunteer service a month, attend monthly board meetings, and serve on one committee (events, pride week, sponsorship etc). If you have experience with youth, leadership, or communications, then one of our executive or named positions might be perfect for you!

The AGM is open to Society Members who are registered 14 days before the AGM, but attendees must pre-register to get the link. Register on our website at kamloopspride.com/getinvolved
