Program Description

The Kamloops Ambassador Society provides training and guidance to the youth to further develop skills and experience through a variety of classes and activities. Some of these classes include:

* Auto Mechanics
* Ballroom Dance
* City Affairs
* Etiquette
* Financial Planning
* Internet Safety
* Knowledge of Kamloops
* Street Awareness
* Net

working
* Volunteerism
* Speech Training
* Meeting with Community Leaders

To participate in the Program, candidates must be attending school and be in Grades 10-12. Candidates are solely responsible for getting their own sponsor who will support them through their candidacy. Over the course of six months, candidates participate in several community events and are judged on a prepared speech, knowledge of Kamloops, and a sponsor presentation. Culminating with a final judged interview and the annual election in July, new ambassadors are chosen by a panel of judges and serve for the period of one year.

What a treat to attend this month's Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce Social at Kamloops Theraputic Riding Association! 🐎KTRA's mission is to create opportunities for personal growth, healing, inclusion, and connection through therapeutic relationships with horses.
It was wonderful to see so many Chamber members make the trek out to their stables to learn more about their organization, enjoy tasty treats and some bevvies from !

We were happy to be helping at the City of Kamloops' Annual Seniors' Picnic on Friday afternoon!
Friday's event featured musical entertainment from our famous (infamous 🤔 😉☺️) Rube Band, set beautiful Riverside Park, the perfect backdrop for a picnic-style hot dog lunch served by the Kamloops Paddlewheelers Lions Club, our Kamloops Ambassadors, Girl Guides and Scouts and City Council members! There were also gentle fitness exercises with chair yoga and chair Zumba, as well as lawn games!

Our 2026 Team had their first TV interview with Midday's Tanya Cronin on Wednesday!
While they said they felt like a bundle of nerves, you would have never known! They were articulate, funny and engaging! A joy to watch and listen to!
Well done Addi, Kimika and Elli!!! You are fantastic City Ambassadors!

Though there are so many lessons to be learned from Dolly Parton’s music, the most profound thing she taught us was the importance of contributing to your community. When people come together, see each other as family and work towards a greater good, miracles can happen. She once said that “if you want the rainbow, you’ve got to put up with the rain”.

May you rest in peace, Dolly.
