Service Canada and CRA representatives are coming to the CMHA Clubhouse for a community Superclinic.

Wednesday, June 17
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
CMHA Clubhouse, 857 Seymour Street

Support may include pensions, Employment Insurance, SINs, CRA benefits and credits, tax information, Disability Tax Credit, Canada Dental Care Plan, Canada Disability Benefit, and more.

Bring government-issued photo ID if you have it. Need ID? Someone will be there to help you start the process.

The men around us are often the last ones to ask for help. Not because they do not need it, but because it has not always felt easy or safe to ask.

This Men’s Mental Health Day, be the person who checks in first. A simple “how are you, really?” can open a door someone has been waiting at.

May 31 to June 6, 2026 is National AccessAbility Week.

National AccessAbility Week is a time to celebrate the valuable contributions of people with disabilities and to recognize the work being done across Canada to remove barriers and create more accessible, inclusive communities.

This year’s theme is Building a Strong, Accessible Canada — a reminder that accessibility is not a one-time effort. It is an ongoing commitment to identifying and removing physical, digital, communication, attitudinal, and systemic barriers so everyone can participate fully and equally.

Accessibility benefits everyone. This week, we encourage our community to reflect, learn, and look for practical ways to make our spaces, services, programs, and conversations more inclusive.

May 24 is Early Psychosis and Schizophrenia Awareness Day.

Today is an opportunity to build understanding, challenge stigma, and show support for people living with early psychosis or schizophrenia — and for the families, friends, caregivers, and communities who walk alongside them.

Psychosis and schizophrenia are often misunderstood. Awareness helps create space for compassion, early support, treatment, recovery, and hope.

People living with schizophrenia and early psychosis are more than a diagnosis, and with the right support, recovery and meaningful quality of life are possible.

Today, we stand in ceremony and solidarity to help end gender-based violence and support the collective journey of reconciliation.

The Moose Hide Campaign is an Indigenous-led movement that invites everyone to take practical action: wear a moose hide pin, start conversations, learn, reflect, and speak out against violence toward women, children, and all those along the gender continuum.

Workplace connection matters.

Nearly 1 in 5 people in Canada report feeling lonely often or always. During CMHA Mental Health Week, we are reminded that small moments of connection can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.

A simple check-in, an invitation for a break, or a brief conversation can help people feel supported, reduce stress, and improve well-being.

This week, we encourage everyone to try one small action:
1. Check in with a colleague.
2. Invite someone for a break.
3. Start a simple conversation.

Connection does not have to be complicated. Sometimes, it starts with one small moment.

During National Volunteer Week, we’ve been thinking about the small moments that don’t always get noticed but mean everything here at the clubhouse.

Like the volunteer who remembers how someone takes their coffee. The one who sits a little longer when a conversation needs it. The ones who quietly set things up, clean things up, and make sure no one feels out of place walking through the door.

That kind of care doesn’t show up in reports, but it shapes this space every day.

To our volunteers: what you do matters in ways that are hard to measure, but easy to feel. Thank you for being part of what makes the clubhouse what it is.
