A warm welcome to our newest team members!

We recently gathered for new staff orientation, where this wonderful group learned more about our philosophy, compassionate care, and the important role each person plays in supporting individuals and families in our community.

We are so grateful to have these caring individuals joining our team and look forward to the knowledge, kindness, and support they bring.

Please join us in welcoming them! ✨

Today we want to shine the spotlight of 2 of our many wonderful garden volunteers.

Helen and Nancy have been volunteering with Kamloops Hospice Association for 20+ years combined. They are especially involved with our vegetable garden, which started in 2017. This garden helps us provide fresh, healthy produce grown right on site for our patients during the growing season - and it takes a fair bit of work!

THANK YOU to you both for making a difference! 🥕🍅🥗

A heartfelt thank you to Brandy Gozda Sekhon and the incredible team at Kamloops McDonald's in Valleyview for their generous donation of 20 flats of pop to Kamloops Hospice Association.

During the recent water pipe issues affecting much of our community, the restaurant brought in canned beverages to help continue to serve customers while water service was disrupted. Once things were back up and running, they chose to donate the extra supplies to hospice rather than let them go to waste.

Brandy is the 2nd generation local family owner of McDonald’s in Kamloops and Merritt. The family has built a long-time tradition of thoughtful acts of community care and generosity. This is just one example, and we are so grateful for your support. Thank you for thinking of hospice and the individuals and families we serve.

As we start yearning for summer days, with lake days, warm evenings, family gatherings, and time spent outdoors, it can also be a meaningful time to have important conversations about the future.

Join Pamela and learn how to start your Advance Care Plan.

Advance Care Planning (ACP) helps you reflect on what matters most and ensures your healthcare wishes are known if you are ever unable to speak for yourself. It can ease stress for your loved ones and bring peace of mind for everyone involved.

This workshop is perfect if you are looking to better understand what to include in your plan, who can make decisions on your behalf, and how to begin these conversations with the people who matter most.

Next week is the final session of our Relaxation & Grief Support group for May.

On May 26, participants are invited to experience Yoga. This session offers a gentle opportunity to explore grief through mindful, restorative movement, creating space for breath, reflection, and a sense of calm.

This group is open to anyone experiencing grief after the death of a loved one, as well as those supporting someone with a palliative diagnosis.

Each week offers a different activity, creating space for healing, connection, and quiet reflection alongside others who understand.

To register, please call 250-372-1336 or email [email protected]
