Cherry Hill Eco Village Co Op is in its seedling stage. Currently, we are in the process of acquiring our beautiful piece of land to create our village. We have created this page to share our vision for our village. Stay posted for the official launch of CHEV! Our prospective property is one hour south of Quesnel BC, Canada. We have planted the seed of creation. We are hoping for your compassion and support to help grow our roots deep into the Earth! As every drop of water is necessary to life, every act of support can help us flourish.
"A world in which everyone can choose to live in a healthy, thriving, ecologically sustainable settlement, fuelled by a practice of Gratitude."
"The mission of our community is to create a harmonious living environment that is economically sustainable, environmentally respectful and nurturing of one's spirit. While respecting personal privacy, we foster cooperation and human connection allowing members to flourish and feel a sense of belonging and purpose."
Management
CHEV is managed at present by the founding Members. (Desha Bene, Danielea Castell,Toby Davidson, Bianca Giuliano, Nicole Hartley Bradford, Grace Kohn and David Wensley, Valerie Plante and Dr. Robert Pearson, Nicole Pomerleau, Marilyn and Bob Puff, Elya and Phoenix Wildflower) Cherry Hill is managed by a governance system known as Sociocracy – a method which values equality between members, flexibility, collaboration, research and implementation. Rather than regular democratic hierarchy, Sociocracy works with circles. The founding members form the founding circle, the center of the flower, if one can imagine. From this center, other circles form outside of the forming circle, with one founding member sitting on each of the circles. This allows for better synastry amongst members, as well as a constant flow of information to be passed back and forth.
Our Goals and Objectives
Ultimately, CHEV’s company goals are to provide services and products that are in resonance with nature and its cycles, for its immediate community members and the greater community at large.
First and foremost, CHEV is a housing Co-operative, providing clean, well maintained housing environments for all its residents. This includes maintaining the water spring system and soil of the land, in order to allow for the community to thrive and maintain its sustainability. CHEV will manage agricultural land that will allow members to collaborate in producing high quality organic food for themselves and their larger community, in an environment that is regenerative, creative and self-sustaining.
CHEV is a company which allows for any member/members to set up their own cottage industry, craft shop or become involved in the proposed communal industries of the Eco village. Our proposed offerings at this time are:
