Thank you to all health professionals!

Today is . Around the world, health professionals continue to deliver care in conflict settings, often at great personal risk.

The CFNU extends our solitary to health professionals everywhere and call for the protection of health care workers, patients, and health facilities.

As Howard Catton, ICN - International Council of Nurses CEO reminds us, "Health professionals are not combatants. They are not targets. Protecting them is not only a legal obligation - it is essential to protecting patients, safeguarding health systems and preserving our shared humanity."

NEU 1st Vice President Amanda Arsenault joined the picket line with PSAC National Executive Vice President Alex Silas to show solidarity with members who work with the Bank of Canada.

Workers continue to fight for a fair deal while also demanding respect for their right to strike. The 42 members at the Bank's Ottawa office and 7 members at the Montreal office have been on strike after the Bank locked out members in Montreal.

Back in July, the Board also ruled that Bank of Canada broke the law a second time and ordered the Bank to stop using scabs.

At the time, not only did the Bank continue using scabs, they hired a notorious anti-union security company, Pinkertons, to “replace” striking Bank of Canada workers.

The NEU stands in solidarity with all Bank of Canada workers and alongside PSAC, calls on the Bank to abide by the ruling, stop using scabs, and come back to the table to negotiate a fair deal.

Your union Local is hosting a meeting to select delegates to attend the union's 10th Triennial Convention in Iqaluit from November 16-19 this year!

Come out to a virtual meeting this THURSDAY, August 20 at 7 PM EST to learn more about getting involved and representing nurses at convention.

This opportunity is open to ALL UNION MEMBERS WORKING AS NURSES including those not involved with Local 003 so far.

PSAC North and the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions are hosting a town hall in person at the PSAC North Regional Office in Iqaluit (507 Astro Hill Terrace, Suite 204) THIS THURSDAY, August 20 at 5:30 PM EST.

The Nunavut Employees Union is pleased to be joining the Northern Territories Federation of Labour in its Annual Labour Day BBQ in Iqaluit on August 29!

The event will be taking place at the Sylvia Grinnell Pavilion and open to the entire community. More details on the time, transport, performances and prizes will be announced in the coming weeks. If you're an NEU member working in Iqaluit — sign up to volunteer and help shape the festivities.
