The Celtic Quilt Guild will be displaying their fabulous Euchre Quilt Show at ICCA! A delight for euchre players and appreciators of beautiful, intricate quilts. 🎬 ABOUT TURN: VETERANS TRANSFORMING TRAUMA
This Remembrance Day, join us for a powerful and deeply moving documentary that brings us face-to-face with the realities many veterans continue to live with long after their service ends.
Filmed over two years in and around Pipers Glen, Inverness and Sydney, About Turn: Veterans Transforming Trauma follows a group of Cape Breton veterans on their journey to recover from PTSD, rebuild their lives and find healing.
The film features retired Sgt. Fabian Henry, who runs Veterans For Healing, a clinic dedicated to helping veterans navigate their medical needs and the often-complex process of filing claims with Veterans Affairs.
Behind the scenes of recovery lies another battle: navigating a system where claims can be denied and appeals can take months—or even years—to resolve. Meanwhile, veterans face disproportionately high rates of su***de, underscoring the urgent need for understanding, support and meaningful change.
Intimate, honest and deeply human, About Turn is more than a film about trauma. It is a story of resilience, community and the ongoing responsibility we share to care for those who have served.

🔹 SPRING & ARNAUD - Friday, Oct. 9th at 7:30 PM
Art, love and mortality intertwine in this intimate portrait of artists Spring Hurlbut and Arnaud Maggs. Co-directed by Marcia Connolly.

🔹 STRANGE & FAMILIAR: ARCHITECTURE ON FOGO ISLAND - Saturday, Oct. 10th at 6:00 PM
The stories of philanthropists Zita Cobb, architect Todd Saunders and community members emerge as Fogo Island Inn is built off the coast of Newfoundland. Co-directed by Marcia Connolly.

🔹 KOOP: THE ART OF WANDA KOOP - Saturday, Oct. 10th at 7:30 PM
A seven day journey by freight boat along the St. Lawrence reveals artist Wanda Koop’s unique creative process and perspective.

Admission is free to all, donations to ICCA are welcome.

Katherine will also be hosting a photography workshop in our studio space on Sunday, Oct. 11th from 1-2:30 PM. All levels are welcome - no experience necessary. Bring a camera or a phone with a camera. Admission is free to all.

Instructor Kyle MacDonald has been teaching the basics of fiddle playing on Fridays from 3-5pm here at ICCA! Come learn the basics, or even some new tunes! This class is offered complimentary to children 12 and under and folks with an ICCA membership! ☺️

Please note: There are two Fridays where classes will not take place: Friday October 16th and Friday November 13th!

Volunteers needed! 🦇 🎃

ICCA is putting on a spooky trail of horrors from Fri-Sunday throughout the remainder of October! We will need volunteers for a few positions: Door, Floaters and Actors. The shift times would be from 6-8pm and 8-10pm!

Not able to volunteer? Help our search by spreading the word! Volunteering as one of the actors would be a super fun opportunity for older teenagers and adolescents! (Must be 16+!) Please spread the word :) and apply through [email protected]!

ICCA will include costumes for everyone involved!
