The Royal Canadian Legion is strengthening its partnership with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) to improve access to disability benefits, services, and programs for Veterans, serving CAF members, and their families.

Government security-cleared Legion Command Service Officers can now meet clients at CAF Transition Centres across Canada, providing convenient access to expert guidance and support while reinforcing the Legion’s role as a trusted advocate.


Veterans should never have to pay for help accessing benefits. The Legion is aware of organizations that charge fees, take a percentage of awards, or profit in hidden ways. Legion Command Service Officer assistance is professional, ethical — and always free.

Invermere Canada Day Parade – Weds July 1, 2026 Downtown Invermere.
This summer we have a lot to celebrate as the RCL Windermere District #71 - Invermere Legion marks 100 years and the District of Invermere celebrates 75 years!
Join us for a true community favourite, the Canada Day Parade on Wednesday, July 1 at 11:00am. This year’s theme, "Canada Through the Decades", is all about creativity, nostalgia, and coming together. Pick your favourite era, dress it up, build a float, or bring a fun idea that showcases a piece of Canada’s story. This is a community celebration for everyone, and we encourage participants to take part in a way that is respectful and inclusive of the diverse cultures and histories that make up Canada.
The parade will begin at Pothole Park, travel along 7th Ave and 13th St, and will finish at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena.
Registration is now open, so gather your business, family, or community group and join in! Let us know if you will be joining with a float, walking group, or a bit of both! We would love to have you involved either way!
