🌺 FROM BRANCH #104 TO JUNO BEACH — LEST WE FORGET 🌺
During a recent European tour, Comrade Shane Moore visited many places of significance, including the hallowed shores of Juno Beach in Normandy, France — where Canadian soldiers landed on D-Day, June 6, 1944, and where so many served, sacrificed and fell in the cause of freedom.
While there, Shane proudly presented the Juno Beach memorial office with an RCL Branch #104 Starfighter Memorial Pin, carrying a symbol of our Branch from Innisfail to this sacred place of Canadian remembrance.
Shane also went out of his way to locate the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104 Innisfail plaque, honouring our Branch's commitment to remembering Canada's Fallen.
Perhaps most moving, Shane brought home sand from Juno Beach itself — a tangible connection to the very shores upon which Canadian soldiers came ashore more than 82 years ago.
Thank you, Comrade Shane. Your journey reminds us just how far the spirit of Branch #104 reaches and of our enduring duty to ensure the service and sacrifice of our Veterans and Fallen are never forgotten.
May we honour them not only in ceremony, but through our service, our actions, and by passing their stories to the generations that follow.
