Ile à la Crosse Friendship Centre will be CLOSED on September 30 {Wed} for observance of National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

Honours Survivors: Recognizes the children, families, and communities affected by the tragic legacy and intergenerational trauma of Canada’s Indian Residential School system.

Orange Shirt Symbolism: People wear orange shirts to remember that "Every Child Matters," inspired by survivor Phyllis Webstad's experience of having her new orange shirt taken away on her first day at a residential school.

Reconciliation: Fulfills Call to Action #80 from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission by creating a dedicated time for public education, remembrance, and reflection.
