Our U13-2 team wrapped up their Sixes season with three tough games at Provincials. This young squad faced off against Burlington Blaze, Center Wellington Riverhawks and the Owen Sound Northstars and battled to the last whistle. We are so proud of the determination and dedication of these young Lacrosse players as they pushed themselves each game to grow, build their skills and love of the game! Hawks Nation is proud of this team and the way they represented Huntsville!

The U13-1 team finished out their Sixes Provincials with a 13-12 loss to the Quinte Bayhawks under the lights at Heritage Park! This marks the end of their season after going 0-3 at Provincials against some high level A division competition! We are so proud of our Hawks!

Our U13-1’s faced Orangeville in their first of three games today. The team rallied together and stayed neck and neck with the Northmen until late in the game coming out on the down side of a 14-9 score! Next up is Toronto Beaches at 4:00 today!

Our Sixes teams rounded out their season games this past week with another night under the lights in Kawartha!

The two U13 teams travelled down to get a couple more games in ahead of the Provincials weekend, but fell short of securing a W in either game.

Now our teams prep for provincials - which take place in Hamilton on October 17-18!

Hey Hawks Family!

Don’t forget our AGM is coming up fast!

Date: Monday October 5, 2026
Location: Active Living Center, Huntsville
Time: 7:00 pm

The Annual General Meeting provides the opportunity for members to come out and hear from the Executive and Board of Directors as they provide updates on the program, current and future plans and goals for the association, and field questions from members.

It is a valuable opportunity for all to come out and learn more about HDMLA and the programs, and maybe even fill an empty role to help lacrosse continue to grow and flourish in Huntsville and Muskoka!

On Saturday September 26 the Huntsville Hall of Fame inducted several new members.

Gus Liadis, President of HDMLA, was inducted as an athlete for his many accomplishments in lacrosse.

He has won at the highest levels of lacrosse in Canada (Mann Cup and Minto Cup rings) and was inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2019 as a member of the Whitby Warriors.

Gus’s greatest accomplishments with the Huntsville Hawks include a Canadian championship in 1980 with the Midget Hawks and a Bronze medal in the Junior B Founders Cup.

Gus’s list of personal accomplishments includes a Junior B Rookie of the Year Award and Scoring Champion (twice), including numerous league and team MVP awards. He is in the Junior Record books for 18 assists in one game.

Gus has been heavily involved in the growth and development of lacrosse in Huntsville for many years and continues to help grow the sport within the Huntsville and Muskoka area!

We need you!

Our HDMLA is looking to fill some vacant roles on our Board of Directors for the upcoming year! Without our wonderful volunteers, we would be unable to run a successful program in Muskoka! If you have been wondering if the time is right to volunteer - it is!

We are looking for the following positions:
🥍 Director of Field Lacrosse
🥍 Director of Fundraising and Sponsorship
🥍 Director of Scheduling
🥍 Referee in Chief
