On June 21st, the homegrown TriMuskokan takes place. Please watch. Please share to spread the word.
As a result of the construction at the Brunel Locks bridge, a bridge closure was requested by the organizers of the TriMuskokan and determined, through a collaborative review process with the District of Muskoka, to be the safest and most appropriate option for the event. The District has supported and approved this decision as part of the event approval process to help ensure the safety of participants, volunteers, and the public.
This closure will be in effect from 8am to 11am, and will be monitored by the OPP. AT NO TIME WILL THE BEIDGE BE CLOSED TO EMERGENCY SERVICES VEHICLES. THIS INCLUDES FIRE, POLICE, AND AMBULANCE VEHICLES. If there is an emergency, and one of these vehicles needs to get through, they will get through. Full stop.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience this is will cause people in the area and those trying to get around our community by way of the bridge.
The TriMuskokan is a 100% not for profit event with all proceeds going back into the community in forms of sponsorships and scholarships for local athletes and teams, and to help fund the future installations of the free to use outdoor MOVE Fitness Parks in town. If you haven’t seen the first one yet, go see it and use it down at Avery Beach!
