Bonne nouvelle! Great news!
🌿 Hudson Town Council is delighted to share with you today that the Provincial Government has 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐲𝐥𝐚𝐰 𝟕𝟖𝟐-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, the loan bylaw authorizing the purchase of the lots that make up 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡. With this final approval in place, we can now move forward with the acquisition and secure the future of a place deeply loved by our community.
This decision ensures that Sandy Beach and area will remain a public, natural space, protected from commercial or residential development. It preserves not only an ecologically significant landscape, but also a gathering place where generations of residents and visitors have connected with nature, with one another, and with Hudson itself.
This moment would not have been possible without your care, patience, and the goodwill of many people. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the property owners for working with the Town in a spirit of collaboration, and to the residents, volunteers, and community groups whose voices, commitment, and perseverance helped carry this project forward over many years.
We are equally grateful to past and present members of Council, and to the Town’s directors and staff, whose steady work, professionalism, and belief in this project sustained it through complexity and challenge. We also thank our provincial and federal partners — including our MNA, Marilyne Picard, députée de Soulanges à l'Assemblée nationale, and our MP, Peter Schiefke — for their support and collaboration at key moments along the way.
Saving Sandy Beach reflects the best of who we are as a community: attentive, patient, and willing to do the careful work required to protect what matters. It is a shared achievement, and a gift to those who will come after us. 🌱

🌿 Le Conseil municipal de Hudson est heureux de vous annoncer aujourd'hui que le gouvernement du Québec a 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐯𝐞́ 𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐞̀𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝟕𝟖𝟐-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, le règlement d’emprunt autorisant l’acquisition des lots qui composent 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡. Cette approbation finale nous permet maintenant d’aller de l’avant et d’assurer l’avenir d’un lieu profondément cher à notre communauté.
Cette décision garantit que Sandy Beach et environs demeurera un espace naturel et public, à l’abri de tout développement commercial ou résidentiel. Elle protège non seulement un milieu d’une grande valeur écologique, mais aussi un lieu de rassemblement où, depuis des générations, résidents et visiteurs se retrouvent pour se connecter à la nature, les uns aux autres, et à Hudson.
Ce moment n’aurait pas été possible sans votre soin, la patience et la bonne volonté de nombreuses personnes. Nous remercions sincèrement les propriétaires pour leur collaboration avec la Ville, ainsi que les citoyens, bénévoles et organismes communautaires dont les voix, l’engagement et la persévérance ont porté ce projet au fil des années.
Nous exprimons également notre profonde reconnaissance aux membres actuels et passés du Conseil municipal, ainsi qu’aux directeurs et au personnel de la Ville, dont le travail rigoureux, le professionnalisme et la conviction ont permis de mener ce dossier complexe à terme. Nous remercions aussi nos partenaires provinciaux et fédéraux — notamment notre députée provinciale, Marilyne Picard, députée de Soulanges à l'Assemblée nationale, et notre député fédéral, Peter Schiefke — pour leur appui et leur collaboration à des moments clés du processus.
