At JD Shatford Library in Hubbards Deborah Fleming, AA&C member, is having a display of recent 'skyscape' paintings inspired by various travels. One painting is an ode to an Icelandic glass artist, and presents the cathedral as a transparent structure, a structure re-built five times in the last several hundreds of years. Another set of paintings are inspired by Alberta skies. Three other paintings complete the acrylic works.
On the wall by the book check-out, twelve small watercolours provide another way - a Nova Scotia way - to reflect on the past twelve tumultuous months from November 2024 to October 2025.
The art work is on display for the month of December. The availability of the space and generosity of the library staff is assisting local artists is very much appreciated by the displaying artist.
