District of Houston delegates caught up with Minister of Forests Ravi Parmar at the BC Natural Resources Forum last week in Prince George to discuss ongoing forest industry issues, and maybe to give him a Dungate Community Forest hat too 😉

Mayor Brienen from the District of Houston has been a real partner to our work in advancing forestry.

Working across government, alongside First Nations, and with industry, is how we build a forestry future. The District of Houston is a leading example.

Dungate Community Forest thanks long-time administrative assistant Nikki Royer for her eight years of supporting the Board and forest operations in many ways, including tracking community donation requests and delivering cheques to local organizations. At its most recent Board meeting, the directors presented her with a gift and flowers. All the best, Nikki!

Houston Flying Club (HFC) is soaring high! ✈️

Big thanks from HFC to the REDIP grant ($76,500!) and local partners like Dungate Community Forest, District of Houston, and Morice Forest Salvage. This funding allowed for major upgrades to the airport, including:

🏠 Clubhouse improvements
🌱 New grass runway prep
⛽ A shiny new 4500L fuel tank!

PLUS, with more support from Dungate, HFC snagged a second 9000L jet fuel tank from Mustang Helicopters! They've also added a member-only card lock system thanks to the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako. Affordable fuel is here, and all profits go back into the airport.

Dungate Community Forest was proud to sponsor Houston volleyball athletes Kaelynn Dinelle, Addie Chaffer, and Lauryn Slaney! They were selected for the competitive Team BC Volleyball - Zone Program earlier this summer! 🌟

These young stars brought their talent and dedication to the BC Cup Tournament from July 3-6 at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops. What an experience!

"I SPY" a new decal on the Legion shuttle! Dungate Community Forest recently donated to the Royal Canadian Legion Pleasant Valley Branch 249, providing two new sets of tires for its shuttle vehicle and covering a full year of vehicle insurance. Dungate has a long history of supporting the Legion, funding various projects like exit lights, accessible ramps, and electrical and flooring updates. Joanne Woodbeck, the Legion's secretary and treasurer, said "Dungate is a pillar of the community for so many organizations. The funding it provides is often the finishing touch for our projects!"
