Be careful out there!
🌧️ Afternoon Update – Flood Warning in Effect
Persistent rainfall continues across the region and is predicted to let up later tonight. Our crews are actively monitoring rising rivers, creeks, and drainage systems. The BC River Forecast Centre’s notice is now at Flood Warning (Red) for the Fraser Valley, including Hope.
At this time, we do not expect local rivers to breach if the current forecast holds. However, flooding and pooling may occur in localized areas. Our Operations and Emergency Management teams are fully prepared to respond should conditions change. This includes equipment on standby, continuous monitoring, and the ability to scale up response efforts quickly if needed.
⚠️ Safety
• Stay back from fast-moving rivers
• Do not drive through flooded areas
• Clear storm drains near your home if it’s safe to do so
🟫 Sandbags: Pre-filled sandbags remain available at the former “Car Guys” lot (1205 Nelson Avenue) for residents experiencing flooding concerns.
