A very heartfelt thank you to the Hope branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. They have always been a supporter of the Purple Light Nights initiative in Hope.

Once again they have stepped up with a wonderful contribution that will go toward our activities and help with the costs of the mural.

We will be setting a date for the dedication in the spring to ensure that we can have the artist there and others who have contributed to this worthy project. Please stay tuned for that.

The RCLB228 is an incredible supporter in this community, and we are grateful for their continued commitment to domestic violence awareness and prevention.

Mayor Victor Smith reflected on a time when discussing domestic violence was fully taboo. He emphasized the importance of listening to survivors.

Remember there is hope. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence. There is a path forward and resources to help them heal thrive.

Thank you to everyone who came to the kickoff event on the 1st!

Here is Elder Patricia John from the Chawathil First Nation, opening the event with her blessing and sharing the wisdom of the seven sacred teachings. Beside her were the drummers, Tino Peters and Rayne Florence, also from the Chawathil First Nation, who brought us in and closed out the event with their powerful music.

Shine a light!

If you see something, say something; shine a light on domestic violence, regardless of what form it takes. We will only eliminate domestic violence in our community if we come together, speak out, and listen to victims.

Please join us on October 1st at Memorial Park at 6 PM for the opportunity to see Elder Patricia John from the Chawathil First Nation, and to hear her moving blessing. Alongside her will be two drummers who will be signalling the beginning of the event.
