Chelsea Fee is inviting people to nominate Ray for the Seniors Lifetime Achievement Award:

"Hey Hinton people! Every year the Town puts this out for nominees and for a few years I've nominated Ray Gauthier, our amazing pottery instructor but haven't gotten much traction. This year I'm hoping to reach out to all those people Ray has shared his love of pottery with, to also put in nominations for him for. All the info is in the post. Without Ray and his decades of countless hours at the studio, I think there are many local potters we may not have in Hinton and for all I know maybe not even a studio. If you also think Ray is deserving of this award I invite you to nominate him as well!"

Ray has been a steadfast and giving member of the community for decades, and his pottery instruction and guidance has set many, many, potters of all ages and skill levels down the very fun and muddy road of art in ceramics.

Whether you've taken a class with him, or you've asked him questions during his off hours, Ray is always willing to put aside what he's working on to help and demonstrate how to make your project a success. Ray loves pottery, but he loves teaching people to love pottery even more. Thank you Chelsea for organizing this, and everyone at the pottery guild past, present, and future, heartily endorse your effort.👍

Spring wheel throwing pottery classes will start on April 20th, 22nd, and 23rd. We have a Monday night class, a Wednesday night class, and a Thursday night class. Classes run from 7pm to 10pm, for six weeks. For $200 you will receive six classes (one per week), a half box of clay, and a four month membership to the Athabasca River Potters' Guild.

Classes are beginner focused. Our instructors are incredibly experienced, patient, and kind. Join us and get ready to get muddy!

Next round of pottery classes will begin Feb 16 and 18 and 19 and run for six weeks. They are 7-10 pm and include half a box of clay and a four month membership to the guild. $200. Please call Ray to sign up !
