Are you in Nak'azdli Whuten, and Moberly Lake area ?

The Firekeepers are coming to the region September 19-25, 2026! If there are youth/elders/community members that would like to meet up and have tea to chat about the anticipated impacts of the PRGT pipeline we would love to connect! We hope to build up relationships and solidarity between our nation's amidst this projects attempted devastation to our homelands.

Please send us recommendations for grants, and funding opportunities so we can help our Lax'yip be prepared for emergencies caused by wildfire!

We are sending our love to all those impacted by the Wildfires across Northern turtle island ❤️

Our cultural burn program is an Indigenous-led resource to wildfire prevention, we hope to protect our homelands while revitalizing traditional stewardship practices and increasing the production of targetted traditional foods and medicines.

Our team is settling back in at home after an amazing trip to Haida Gwaii, and we are all feeling full to the brim from the amazing hospitality that was shared with us.

We were lucky enough to attend the Pacific People's Conference alongside sovereign Indigenous people's from all across the ocean. Our Firekeepers presented on the work the youth have been doing, and how important it is that we are united on fighting the climate crisis multiple times on the island.
We were shown around the island by some amazing hosts, carvers, weavers, story tellers and knowledge holders. We were able to witness a historic raising of 3 totem poles in Skidegate, with a feast to follow, learning so much about Haida culture.

Haawa/Hamiya’a to everyone who made this trip possible, and everyone that made us feel welcome on Haida Territory. We had a beautiful time and can't wait to return, or show you around our Lax'yip 🌊🌿💙💚

We are so excited to be traveling to Haida territory this week!

We have an amazing group of young Gitxsan, and a sick schedule for our trip. We are looking forward to nurturing relationships with our Haida kin, and seeing all the beauty their homelands have to offer!

Masset, we will see you on July 14th!
Skidegate, we will see you July 20th!

In between we will be hanging around the island, feel free to introduce yourself to our delegation from Gitxsan Lax'yip if you spot us out and about- we would love to tell you about our work!

UPDATE: rescheduled for Tuesday, July 7th, for the same time & place due to recent losses ❤️‍🩹

We are looking forward to hosting another workshop to gather, share and practice different land-based tools to navigate through feelings of grief, anxiety and uncertainty. This is an art-based workshop (drawing skills not required) and open to anyone needing it 🫶🏽

There will be two of us there actively providing child minding with some small activities and supplies for kids who aren't quite ready for the main activities. Older kids are more than welcome to participate in the event.

Facilitated by Wet’suwet’en Reiki, and IFOT practitioners Lorraine Naziel and Sandra Martin Harris
