Hartland Ranch

Hartland Ranch A mini therapy barn and no till, organic farm run by the Hart family in Oro-Medonte, ON, Canada.

With Wendy Elizabeth Hart as our resident equine/human counselor and Jaze Hart as our 'rider' we make the team that brings horses back from the chaos inflicted by abuse and humans back from their trauma to meet together in the middle and safely to heal one another from their wounds. We've collectively had experience in helping people who suffer with OCD, Depression, Anxiety Disorder, DID/MPD, Bi-Polar/Manic Depression, PTSD, Alcoholism and many others.

A sunny day full of opportunity to get things cleaned up for winter and get some much needed vitamin D! River was enjoying a relaxing nap after lunch while I mucked his paddock.
Things are slowing down and getting ready to rest and we embrace this shift. Now is a time for reflection and gratitude for all we've been gifted this year and hope for the future. .

The days are shorter and colder but our private walking trail is a lovely way to enjoy the beauty of the changing of the seasons.

Our horror trail is closed for the year and we are preparing for winter here on the farm. It's the time of rest, reflection and gratitude for all we have.

River is enjoying the sunny warm days we've been gifted and munching on the grass still growing in his paddock.
He loves greeting trail goers from the Hartland Horror Escape Trail we've run since the beginning of Oct, but our OutLAST game, not so much. When he's nervous, I stand with him and stroke his soft nose and he falls asleep on my shoulder.
Sweet old man, love you so much.

The days have been full of harvest, processing harvest, Hartland Horror setting up and operation, Corn Maze shenanigans, dealing with loss of all water for over a week and LARP Club Meetups we've been hosting, among our regular farm chores/maintenance.
It's the busiest part of the year and though it feels fast and chaotic, we know it will soon slow down to a crawl and the excitement will fade, leaving us with wonderful memories of fond times.
Thank you to everyone who supports our little farm and family. It means so much and we are extremely grateful.
Enjoy your October!

The frost has come and taken the leaves that just days ago grew green and bright. Thankfully we saw this coming and pulled everything from the vines and ground so the house is full of herbs, onions, peppers and tomatoes that need processing. We also have lost water for the last 5 days so we've had to carry in water from our airport neighbours to survive.
Also our Hartland Horror Escape Trail 2025 (Oro-Medonte) is OPEN and our LARP Club is operating weekly so we are VERY busy right now.
It's only a season and we're grateful for it!

Sunset last night after gathering potatoes from our beds and watching the beaver swim around. Loving this warm weather we're still having. Love. This. Life.
