As part of the public consultation process, the OFSC has shared its perspective on the proposed ALTO high-speed rail network and the importance of maintaining trail connectivity, respecting private landowners, and protecting the up to $6B in economic activity generated each season. Without coordination and consultation to retain snowmobile trail connectivity, the proposed high-speed train network would critically damage organized snowmobiling in Ontario.

Thank you Cecil for your kind words we received very recently. We very much appreciate it.

I just got back from a two day ski doo trip starting in Cloyne, to Griffith Calabogie and back to Cloyne in a loop.
I want to commend our club and our immediate neighbouring clubs on our signage. Not that I need an arrow, trail number etc, in about a 50km radius of Round Lake, I notice it. Our signage for visitors to the area is top notch.
On this recent trip the club areas I road through could all take a lesson from us. Their system I feel lacked arrows at roadways where it was follow road to trail, "which way?" with tracks coming from both direction an arrow sign would be helpful. They also lacked trail number signs at intersecting trails, you would be several kilometers into a trail before you see a trail number.
I know with the app on your phone it is a mute point. But good signage helps and we are the best that I have see. Thank you HDSC.

Regards
Cecil

Plan your group ride in the comments of this master thread.

We have had members ask if there is a way for members to reach each other to plan some rides. You may want to mention your destination, how many riders are going, meet up point, etc. And, of course you may want to indicate the TYPE of rider you are ("I like to go like stink.." "I stop to chat randomly at every intersection." "I am a newbie, and/or am very slow.."
"I wish to ride 6 hours at a stretch and I will only stop for gas...")

Let's give it a try...

Hi all , once again volunteers have been extremely busy dealing with another huge dump of snow and water holes.
We have installed a culvert and built a snow bridge to deal with one water hole.
We have been flooding another location to increase the ice thickness to allow safe passage for sledders and the groomer. Groomer has been running practically non stop since the latest snow storm. Huge thanks to groomer operators and volunteers for their tremendous efforts this week.
