Mental Illness Awareness Week is October 4-10.
Join us in promoting Canada's national campaign aimed at enhancing awareness of mental illness and substance use health, reducing stigma, and highlighting the real experiences of those affected.

October 10th will also mark World Mental Health Day with the theme: Lived experiences heard; real voices, real change. This year’s theme promotes meaningful engagement with people with lived experience of mental health conditions.

What You Can Do...

Reach out to a friend who may be struggling, ask how they’re doing & offer support.

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE — CRAFT & VENDOR SALE 🚨

We have become aware that fake emails are being circulated regarding our upcoming SPLASH Craft & Vendor Sale. See the email below so people can be aware of what to look out for.

Please know that all correspondence regarding the Craft & Vendor Sale will come directly from our official SPLASH email address. If you receive an email that looks suspicious, asks for payment, or comes from an email address you do not recognize, please do not send any money or personal information.

We sincerely hope that no one has already sent payment to this fraudulent email address. If you have, please reach out to us directly so we are aware of the situation.

We’re disappointed that this has happened and hope this is the only issue we encounter this year. We have been aware of fraudulent posts on social media in previous years, but this is a first for illegitimate emails. We want everyone participating in and supporting our Craft & Vendor Sale to feel confident that they are communicating directly with SPLASH. Confirmation email are still being sent to vendors as spaces fill and will come directly from us.

🔐 A general reminder to everyone:
Please be cautious with all online activity. Scams and fraudulent messages can look very convincing, so take a moment to check the sender’s email address, avoid clicking unfamiliar links, and never send payment or personal information until you have confirmed who you are communicating with. When in doubt, contact the organization or individual directly using a trusted contact method.

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – September 30 🧡
The SPLASH Centre will be closed on September 30 in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
This day provides an important opportunity for our staff to pause, reflect, learn, and recognize the lasting impacts of residential schools on Indigenous children, families, and communities.
We honour the Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and stand alongside their families and communities.
Today and every day, we recognize that Every Child Matters. 🧡

🚲 Electronic Bikes, Scooters & Personal Mobility Devices

As more people choose electronic bikes, scooters, and similar personal mobility devices, we would like to remind everyone to use them responsibly when traveling to and from the Centre.

Please be mindful of traffic, pedestrians, and other members of the community at all times. Safe and respectful use helps ensure everyone can move around the area comfortably and safely.

Important Reminders:
The use of electronic bikes, scooters, and similar devices is entirely at the owner's risk.
These vehicles cannot be stored inside the Centre.
Charging of these devices is not permitted inside the Centre.
Bike racks are available outside for those who wish to use them. However, items left on the racks are the responsibility of their owners and are left there at their own risk.
The Centre accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, damage, or liability related to these items.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping keep our Centre safe, accessible, and welcoming for all.
