Our team at Them Days would like to formally invite you to participate in the PARTICIPACTION Community Challenge! For the month of June, every Monday-Friday at 2:30pm we will be doing a different walk and talk around town. The winning community across Canada wins $100,000, with many other prizes up for grabs as well!

Mondays we will be walking the full Birch Island Boardwalk, which is about 3km - Meet at Birch Island
Tuesdays we will be doing the Pioneer Walk, around 2km - Meet at Them Days
Wednesdays is also at the Birch Island Boardwalk, but a shorter 2km to the beach and back - Meet at Birch Island
Thursdays is a 2.2km walk around the bunker road loop - Meet at the bunker road loop
To end off the week, walk down the East Riverbank for a nice 2.4km - Meet at Them Days

Of course, all walks are planned across the most historic parts of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, so come out and learn the history of our town from our Them Days staff while getting your daily steps in!

Them Days would like to welcome our new summer workers who started today, Brody Edmunds-Elson and Kyle Crawford! Today is also Kyle’s birthday so we surprised him with some cupcakes! 🧁

I’m sure we’re going to have a great summer together and gets lots of work done—and have a lot of fun!

EDIT: the jobs in HV-GB have been filled! Coastal Correspondent job still available!

It's that time to advertise summer jobs again! We have received funding for an Editorial Assistant, a Records Digitizing Technician, and a Coastal Correspondent. (That's right, a youth living on the coast could work for Them Days remotely!!)

It's been a week since it happened, and I don't know when I'll feel 100% normal again. As I'm not yet able to work at full capacity, I will need some help from volunteers to have the next few issues of Them Days come out.
