We lucked into a Large Labrador Day for our BOOST HEC re-cert.

Our dedicated and talented members prepped their gear, checked it twice, practiced their manipulations and sprang into action for a double mock rescue!

Team Members positioned themselves in wooded areas and called in an injured hiker who needed help. Here’s some footage of those rescues!

We are only able to add this option to our fleet because of the Newfoundland and Labrador Search and Rescue Association, and Canadian Helicopters who operate the system.

As well, the International Grenfell Association, who just provided us with an incredible grant that allowed us to purchase some new gear for the Technicians and to aid with rescues.

We’re stronger with their support!

ITS THE FINAL SMILE COOKIE DAY!!

We’re on a mission to sell out both locations before the end of this incredible fundraiser tonight. Pukta didn’t head back to the ice flow yet and wants to see more of his friends with their Smile Cookies today!

You’re doing such a good job we can’t help but SMILE! We’ve been busy at both locations today using up every drop of icing we can! We’re stocked and ready for the weekend.

PS… We had a call from our friend Pukta and he said he wanted cookies tooo! Maybe we’ll see him tomorrow on the hunt for his SMILE COOKIE ! 😊🍪🧡🐻‍❄️

It takes a Team, tonight our families took on a different support role! Not only do they wish us well when we leave on a call? They also step up and help us fundraise!
We had a very special cookie decorator this evening who worked so hard!

Thank you, for every smile purchased so far this week.. we have a few days left and we are so excited to see so many more smiles!!!

We love to see the support in our Community! It takes a Team to make a Mission happen, our supporters play a vital role in that!

The 2026 campaign is officially underway, and this year, every smile cookie from our (both) Tim Hortons helps support our incredible local HV-GB Ground Search and Rescue! These heroes are on standby 24/7 🦺

Whether by land, water, air, or snow, they are vital in first response emergency crisis!

​At Libra House, we’re starting the morning right by surprising our staff and residents with these treats. You have until May 3rd to get yours and support the team that’s always there when we need them most!

HVGB GSAR Members took our seats this weekend in the classroom where our Team completed the Workplace NL Traffic Controller 1 and 2 training courses.

Did you know, we spend thousands of hours a year training for the moment an emergency happens, or an evacuation or fulfill our roles at various community events.

When you see us holding road signs, or setting up for a Tasking, please pay attention to the signage to help keep us safe.

Congratulations to 15 of our Members who gave up 215 of their own hours this weekend so that they could acquire additional training for responses.
