On Monday, April 13th, 812 Squadron was invited to the Durham Fire Station. Cadets spent the night learning about fire safety and how to use the tools and equipment firefighters use. Many cadets got the chance to climb up the fire truck’s ladder, while others were able to try on the equipment firefighters wear. Cadets were able to try using tools such as fire extinguishers and the Jaws of Life.

Cadets had an amazing time and were given pens and safety books at the end of the event. 812 Squadron would like to thank FCpl Edwards, Captain Edwards, and the other staff who made this day possible.

On Saturday, April 9th, 812 Squadron had their Junior Training. Its focus was on the level 1-3’s, teaching them how to properly maintain their uniform and practice their drill. Cadets were also able to play sports to maintain physical fitness, these include soccer, volleyball, manhunt, and more.

The day was planned Fsgt Allen, run by multiple level 5’s. Staff were able to see real progress and hope that cadets will continue to use the skills they learned today to maintain their dress and deportment. We thank everyone who came on Saturday.

Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, marks the 102nd Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force. It was founded on April 1st, 1924, and the 102nd anniversary is part of the RCAF entering its second century of service. Since 1924, the RCAF has numerous reasons for being important, some include defending Canadian airspace, and supporting NATO and UN missions around the world. This anniversary is celebrated by many all around Canada to honour the current and former members of RCAF, reflecting its achievements and history, and continuing tradition and pride of service. 812 Air Cadet Squadron held a parade on March 30th in honour of the anniversary and part of our CO’s parade. We had many distinguished guests come to watch our cadets as they performed drill and speeches. We’d like to thank everyone who was able to make it.

Any cadets who won an award or earned their next rank, please make sure you remember to have them sew on your uniform by the next CO’s parade.

On Monday, February 23, 812 Squadron had their CO's parade, public speaking presentations, and many level 4's have completed their level test.

Congrats to the level 4's who have completed their teaching PPT and good luck to those who have still yet to teach. The squadron is very excited to have a new bunch of cadets to lead younger youth, and we hope this group of cadets continues their amazing performances.

Each year, cadets have the opportunity to write and present a speech on one of the given topics, followed by an improv speech. This encourages cadets to work on their public speaking skills. Cadets present in front of their Squadron, then move onto a larger scale presentation, which is online this year. Our Squadron staff encourages cadets to join this event. Cadets who do this are able to earn a public speaking pin, similar to the marksmanship or biathlon pins. This year's group includes: WO2 Peiman, Cpl Peters, and AC Zadro. Congratulations to these cadets, as this is a difficult task.

This CO's parade we'd like to congratulate the promotion of LAC Zadro, LAC Reeves, LAC Parc, LAC Egginton, LAC Crozier and Cpl Lang, many of these cadets have recently joined the program and we hope to continue building their interest in what air cadets has to offer. Just a reminder to get those rank badges on before the next parade!!

On the last weekend of October, 812 squadron had their first field training exercise of this training year. Cadets slept in tents at Bluewater Outdoor Education Center, sat near a fire, ate MRE's (meals ready to eat), learned outdoor survival skills, and got to play games with each other. This weekend was a great success and we can't wait to plan another. If you didn't get the chance to come this time, please think about coming next time! Thank you to all the staff that spent time planning the ftx and adapting to any bumps along the way.

Welcome to another training year. Monday, September 8th , 2025 serves as 812 squadron's first night back. We were very happy to see all the new and returned cadets. The increase of cadets this year will lead to many positive changes to our squadron and we are so excited that our cadets will be apart of this. The new year will introduce a new group of staff cadets, they will be in charge of teaching, leading and helping cadets this year. We thank everyone who was able to make it tonight for a successful first night.

On September 7th, 2025, our cadets were given the opportunity to attend the London Airshow. A special training day to show support for the Canadian Armed Forces.
