DID YOU KNOW?
Saugeen Artists Guild Bursary $200 to students pursing a career in an Arts related field!

The Saugeen Artists Guild has been an active group of artists in the Saugeen Watershed area since 2008, and a not-for-profit organization since 2018. Our vision is to establish an inclusive environment in the Saugeen Watershed community where people of all diversities can experience and value the arts. One way we support the arts community is by fostering growth and
development in emerging artists. The Saugeen Artists Guild is pleased to offer this $200 bursary to
students pursuing a career in an arts related field. We see artistic value in a wide range of fields including, but not limited to, fine arts, graphic design, photography, sculpture, fashion design,
illustration, advertising and more. We thank all applicants however only one recipient will be selected.
All applicants will be contacted following a recipient being selected.

Featuring Guild Member Pauline Peskoff ~ Mixed Media Artist

Pauline's focus primarily on mixed media embroidery on canvas, explores the interplay of textures, colours, and techniques to create surprising and unconventional combinations—bringing together elements that don’t seem to belong, but somehow do.

Her current long-term project is a series of embroidered works set in Spēlanoia, a fictional world I’ve created that blends narrative, symbolism, and atmosphere. Occasionally she steps away from this world to work on commissions or create one-of-a-kind gifts, both as canvas pieces and embroidered pins.

Visit her Website to see her unique art!

Our Story It all began in November 2006, when six artists were invited to display and sell their work at a local framing store on the main street of Hanover. The group has evolved and grown to 31 artists in 2018. Although the framing store closed in 2008, the excitement of networking with other artists and marketing their art work in group shows continues to grow! We are excited to announce this year that this local artist group is now 'Not for Profit'. With that, a new name! SAUGEEN ARTISTS GUILD We have always welcomed emerging artists with different art mediums into our group and have had the pleasure of being a part of their successes. Our members include painters, potters, blacksmiths, jewellers, woodworkers, photographers, glass workers, fabric artists and sculptors. Throughout the years our artist group previously known as the Saugeen Artists have become an important part of the community and we regularly receive invitations from service groups, our local wineries, Hanover Library’s Fundraising Event and the Hanover Sights and Sound Festival to be a part of their events where we show and sell artwork. The Saugeen Artists have also established a ‘pop up’ store during the Christmas season. For the last 10 years, we have rented an available store front on the main street in Hanover. As a part of the larger community, the Saugeen Artists donate an arts & culture bursary each year to encourage a graduating student at a local High School. Information about our members is available in our spring brochure which highlights the current membership information and includes samples of their artwork. Brochures are available throughout the area at local stores and kiosks or from our members. Our website posts current events and upcoming meetings and shows. Members are represented on our website and a portfolio of their work is posted. Most of our artists live primarily along the Saugeen Watershed but we welcome other artists outside of this area to submit their application to join us. Our monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday every month at 7pm at the P & H Centre, 269-7th Avenue in Hanover. In our meetings, we keep our members informed of any upcoming art events, host guest speakers and art workshops.
