Empty Bowls is a fund raiser to fight hunger initiated by Dorshei Emet and the Unitarian Church of Montréal in Montreal. For a $25 donation, participants enjoy a bowl of delicious vegetarian soup in a beautiful pottery bowl, donated by local artisans, and get to keep the bowl!
This year in honour of our 10th anniversary, we decided to shake up the format. In fact, there will be 6 (count em’ 6) Empty Bowls / Bols de partage events in Montréal:
•Friday March 18th 6:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Le Bol de l’entraide/Bols de partage – Organised for and by Maison d’entraide St-Paul & Emard. Église Saint Paul, 1690 ave. de l’Église
•Saturday April 2nd, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. , Boucherie Lawrence 5237 Saint-Laurent Boulevard.
•Sunday April 3rd, 11:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Dorshei Emet: 18 Cleve Road Hampstead
•Tuesday, April 5, 11 AM - 3 PM Café Zéphyr, 5791 Sherbrooke W
•Saturday April 9th 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m NDG Food Depot 2146 Marlow avenue
Since partnering with the Unitarian Church of Montréal in 2008, we’ve raised close to $115,000. Beneficiaries have included: Dorshei Emet’s Hanukkah Food Basket Fund, Generations Foundation, Mazon Canada, Multi Caf, Nazareth House, NDG Food Depot, Patricia Mackenzie Pavilion of The Old Brewery Mission, Santropol Roulant, St. Michael’s Mission, La Maison d’Entraide St-Paul/Emard, and les cuisines collectives du Grand Plateau
