Acres for Hamiota

We would like to announce an exciting collaboration between Acres for Hamiota, Hamiota Community Foundation, and Hamiota District Health Foundation Inc. We have donated $2,500 each to STARS to go toward the purchase of a portable ventilator. This portable ventilator is compact and versatile and can be used in a variety of environments such as ambulance, helicopter, and airplanes.

This year our harvest day took place on October 10, we had many gracious volunteers make this day possible! This year our harvest crew included, Firmin Desroches, Allan Soutar, Dwayne and Rylan Kent, Mark and Destin Kinght, Tom Lelond, Brett McCrae and Kevin Kirk.
We had the grade 3 and 4 class out to the field for some hands on learning about soybeans and harvest equipment. The students also made thank you cards for our volunteers with the assistance of Wendy McDonald from Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers.
We all enjoyed a delicious beef on a bun lunch with cake made by Country Crocus bakeshop for dessert.

This year we planted soybeans. Thank you to Pioneer Hybrid and Chappell Ag Solutions for donations of seed.
We would also like to thank Lallemand Inc for their donation of inoculant and Nutrien for donating fertilizer again. We greatly appreciate all donations and the time and fuel for seeding the field.
