🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation — September 30

Today, IUOE Local 772 honours the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and Indigenous communities across Canada.

Truth and Reconciliation calls on all of us to listen, learn, remember, and reflect on the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools.

We wear orange to honour the Survivors and remember the children, while recognizing that reconciliation is an ongoing commitment — one that requires understanding, respect, and action.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

What started as a simple 50/50 draw turned into something so much more — $3,000 raised to support our IUOE Local 115 Brothers & Sisters and their families who have been affected by the devastating BC wildfires.

When one of us is hurting, we all feel it. When our Brothers & Sisters need help, we stand together. This is what being part of a union family is all about; supporting one another through the difficult times and reminding our members that they are never alone.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who purchased tickets, donated, shared the draw and helped make this possible. Every ticket and every contribution made a difference.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNER!
Vipul Pandya — GTAA Engineer & long-term Steward!

Thank you, Vipul, for supporting your Brothers & Sisters — and congratulations on your win!

A strong day of collaboration and advocacy at the Union Leader Roundtable in Ottawa, bringing together union leaders and government representatives, including the Prime Minister, Labour Minister and Jobs Minister.

Proud to see IUOE Canadian Regional Director Patrick Campbell representing the International Union of Operating Engineers at the table and ensuring the voices of our members are heard.

The IUOE has a strong voice and a seat at the table when it comes to government projects, skilled trades, good jobs and the needs of our members across Canada.

When unions have a voice, workers have a voice. When we stand together, we make a difference. 💪🇨🇦

On behalf of IUOE Local 772, Business Manager Greg Hoath would like to extend his sincere thanks and appreciation to IUOE General President John Downey for his continued support and commitment to our Canadian Brothers and Sisters.

President Downey’s message at the IUOE Canadian Conference in Kananaskis, Alberta, reinforces what our union stands for: protecting good jobs, standing up for our members, supporting fair trade, and strengthening the partnership between our Canadian and American members.

The strength of the IUOE comes from our ability to stand together — across locals, borders, and jurisdictions — to protect the rights, livelihoods, and future of working people.

Thank you, President Downey, for standing with us and for continuing to champion the interests of IUOE members across Canada.
