Congratulations to Tyler and Conor on your well-deserved appointments! A fantastic recognition of your dedication and contributions to the piping community. Wishing you both every success in your new roles! 🎉

Please join us in congratulating our new Pipe Sergeants! 🎉

The 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band is proud to announce that longtime band members, Tyler Harris and Conor Cooper have been appointed Pipe Sergeants. They’ll work together, and with the whole band, to keep us moving forward.

Tyler Harris (pictured left)

Tyler started piping at age 10 and has since travelled the world, playing pipes, whistle and more at some of the biggest venues anywhere. He is a 15-time North American Champion, 13 of those wins with the 78th. A successful solo competitor, he also performs with the touring group Tartan Terrors (tartanterrors.com/bios). Tyler is an accredited solo and band piping judge, an active teacher of many successful pipers, and psychotherapist!

Conor Cooper

Conor is a sergeant in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders of Canada and is currently seconded to the 5th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland (5 SCOTS), where his duties include royal guard duty for the King and and some solo piping. He returns to Ontario in November. Conor began piping at age 7 with Brighton Legion, holds a Bachelor of Arts specializing in music, and is an accredited band piping judge with the PPBSO.

Both Tyler and Conor also volunteer with the PPBSO on the music committee and the upgrade subcommittee, including helping out with the Ontario Youth Pipe Band whenever they can.
A big thank you to both of them for stepping in, and stepping up!
