One of the best parts of our annual Walk to End Brain Tumours is getting to come together and grab some food, and just enjoy the day as a community for a cause 💙🧡

Bring your family, bring your friends, and make a day of it Sunday June 14th 11:00am-1:00pm at Waterdown Memorial Park!

It’s the perfect mix of fun, connection, and purpose🎗️

Together we will honour those we have lost and are impacted by brain tumours, raise awareness, and fundraise for Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.

All are welcome! No admission fee. No registration required. 🫶

Wow! What a great turnout we had yesterday. Thank you to all who came out to support our event, enjoyed a delicious breakfast and spent time catching up with friends and neighbours.

Shout out to all of the members and volunteers who chopped, cooked, served and cleaned up.

Special thanks to the local businesses who sponsored our club, the activities and donated foods. To Councillor Ted McMeekin and City of Hamilton for their support in making the arena available to us for this community event.

We’re taking a few minutes to catch our breath, then back to it for our next big event, the annual Duck Dash. Stay tuned for more details and where to get your tickets

The Optimist Club of Carlisle’s Annual Community Breakfast is officially underway at the Carlisle Arena! We’re here until 12 PM — come by for a delicious breakfast, great company, and check out our NEW kids zone with movies, toys, and blocks.

Good tip mixing salt and sand. And less salt still gets the job done and better for our environment

Did you know that more than 90% of the drinking water in our watershed comes from Lake Ontario? 🥤

Help keep our drinking water safe this winter by shoveling or plowing before the snow packs down and turns into ice. If salting is necessary, one tablespoon of salt is plenty to clear one square metre. Try using a mixture of sand and salt to help provide traction and wait to reapply it. Salt continues to work even when you don't see it!

This holiday season, our community came together in an incredible way to support the Flamborough Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, partners, and local businesses—and with every gift card matched 10 times— and local businesses ( Kitching Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home Limited, Circle of Life Simply Cremations, Brown Lawyers, Red Hill Car Wash, Got Gold Get Cash, Smile Spectrum Dental, Expedia Cruises - Waterdown, Hear Right Canada - Waterdown and Optimist Club of Carlisle) raised $4,450 and delivered 11 gift cards to help families in need during a time of increased demand. We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated, helped raise funds, and supported this initiative.
