🇨🇦🐉 KAB is cheering LOUD for our athletes! 💜

This past weekend, 8 incredible KAB athletes attended the Showcase Camp in Welland and took the first step toward an amazing opportunity — trying out for the Canadian National Dragon Boat Team and the chance to represent Canada at the 18th World Dragon Boat Championships in Hong Kong in October 2027! 🇨🇦🇭🇰

We couldn’t be prouder of Carrie Brooks-Joiner Liz Psutka Michelle Sandrasagra Michelle Lapointe Arliss Skye Dawn Brittain Kathleen Nazar Corbett and Vivian Medley for stepping outside their comfort zones, working hard, pushing themselves and showing everyone what KAB is made of! 💪🐉

And they didn’t do it alone! They had one very special supporter in their corner — Andrea Swan a former National Team athlete, who came out to cheer them on and share in this exciting experience. ❤️

To all our amazing athletes, whatever comes next, you’ve already made KAB proud! 💜

💗 KAB Wellness Series: Supporting Our Members Through Every Step

As part of Knot A Breast’s Wellness Series, we are committed to providing our members with information, education and support to help navigate the many challenges that can come with a breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and life after treatment.

We were honoured to recently welcome Dr. Supriya Kulkarni, President of the Canadian Society of Breast Imaging, for a very informative and engaging webinar.

Dr. Kulkarni is a leading national voice in breast screening policy and has contributed to Ontario’s decision to lower the age for routine breast screening to 40. She shared her expertise on breast screening procedures, what to look for, the importance of screening and when to seek further assessment. Most importantly, she took the time to answer the many thoughtful questions from our members.

It was a wonderful and meaningful way to begin Breast Cancer Awareness Month — with knowledge, conversation and a focus on empowering our community.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kulkarni for generously sharing your knowledge, experience and expertise with Knot A Breast. We are grateful for your time and for helping our members feel more informed and empowered about their breast health. 💗

🎙️ KAB takes to the airwaves! 💜🐉

Today, three of our KAB teammates Milka Vujnovic Carrie Brooks-Joiner and Theresa Burns had the incredible opportunity to join CHCH Sportsline with Bubba O’Neil to talk about Knot A Breast — who we are, what we do, what this community means to us, and our unforgettable journey to France for the IBCPC Festival.

We also got to share a pretty amazing part of our story… KAB has now placed FIRST in the finals at IBCPC four times — with France being the latest! 🇨🇦🇫🇷

But KAB is about so much more than racing.

It’s about strength, community, hope, support, empowerment and inspiration. It’s about breast cancer survivors coming together, finding strength in one another, building friendships that span the globe, and discovering that there are things we can do that we may have once never dreamed possible. 💜

We are so grateful for the opportunity to share the incredible spirit of the breast cancer survivor dragon boat community and to let more people know what KAB is all about. There is something truly powerful about knowing you are never alone — there is a whole community beside you, cheering you on and paddling with you. 🫶🏼🐉

💜🌍 THE ADVENTURE DIDN’T END IN FRANCE! 🌍💜

After the incredible IBCPC 2026 adventure, our KAB teammates didn’t just head home… they kept exploring! ✈️

From France to Italy, Greece, Portugal, England, Ireland, Switzerland, Spain, Germany and Croatia, our women spread out across Europe — hiking, cycling, exploring, tasting amazing food and w**e, discovering new places and making memories along the way. 🍷🚲🥾

On the boat, we are one powerful crew — paddling with strength, determination and one heartbeat. 🚣‍♀️💜

Off the boat, we are women who keep moving, keep exploring and keep saying YES to adventure!

Strong on the boat. Adventurous everywhere. Together wherever the journey takes us. 🌍💜
