As wildfires continue to burn across northwestern Ontario, we thank the firefighters, first responders, Indigenous communities, public service workers, volunteers and everyone working tirelessly to protect lives and support those affected.

From wildfire research and forecasting to emergency coordination and community recovery, public service workers play a critical role before, during and after a wildfire.

You can’t strengthen Canada’s wildfire response while cutting the public service that helps make it possible. Every cut weakens Canada’s ability to prepare for, respond to and recover from the growing threat of wildfires.

🎉 BIG WIN for our members on the Bank of Canada picket line, and for workers across Canada: The Canada Industrial Relations Board just ruled the Bank broke the law using replacement workers, also known as scabs, during their strike.

This is one of the first successful complaints under Canada's new law banning scabs.

The fight isn't over. We'll keep fighting until workers get the fair deal they deserve.

Today, the federal government’s forced four-day in-office mandate takes effect for several departments. A decision made with no data, no evidence, and no plan.

Workers have proven that more flexibility leads to more productivity. And the government’s own research shows remote work could save taxpayers up to $6 billion.
