Hello club members and friends. We invite you to join our Club Social activity on April 15. Our very own Jayne Eastwood's first movie, "Goin' Down the Road" will be playing at 6:45 pm at the Playhouse Theatre, 177 Sherman North (Just north of Barton). Following the movie, there will be a Question & Answer session with Jayne where we can ask all kinds of indelicate questions (after all, she is pregnant and u***d in this movie!).

We hope to see you there!🤩🎬

In rural Nova Scotia, childhood friends -- Joey (Paul Bradley) and Peter (Doug McGrath) -- set off in search of a better life in the big city. After arriving in Toronto, the pals find meager but steady work at a soda bottling plant. Joey then learns that his girlfriend, Betty (Jayne Eastwood), is pregnant with their child. But the happy occasion is dimmed by a setback when both Joey and Peter are let go from their jobs, and must now figure out some way to survive in the city. Contains 2 songs by Bruce Cockburn that were specifically written in 1970 for the film. "Going Down the Road" and "Another Victim of the Rainbow".

Goin Down the Road has been preserved as a masterwork by the Audio-Visual Preservation Trust of Canada, and ranked in TIFF's Top 10 Canadian Films of All Time every time the list has been compiled — in 1984, 1993, 2004, and 2015.
