Afghan Association of Hamilton was honoured to be invited to attend the Dundas Valley School of Art’s 55th Annual Art Auction — an inspiring evening that truly showcased the power of creativity in bringing people together.
It was a privilege to be in the presence of the Mayor of Hamilton, Andrea Horwath, Members of Parliament, including, John-Paul Danko, and community leaders who continue to champion arts and culture in Hamilton.
At the Afghan Association of Hamilton we’ve seen firsthand how art can create connection, confidence, and belonging. For over 2 years now, DVSA has been a valued partner in supporting our Newcomer Art Classes, giving newcomer families — especially youth — the opportunity to express themselves, build new skills, and feel part of their new community.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Executive Director, Kathron Hann, the DVSA’s team, artists, sponsors, and volunteers for not only hosting such a meaningful event, but for their continued commitment to inclusion and community impact.
Together, we are creating spaces where newcomers can grow, connect, and thrive through art.
