The Official Page of BGC Hamilton-Halton (Boys & Girls Clubs of Hamilton). This page will be maintained and updated by the Staff of BGC Hamilton-Halton and will keep all members posted on upcoming events and events from the past. More than seventy-five years ago, dedicated and visionary members of the Kiwanis Club of Hamilton East recognized the need for quality programs and recreational opportuni

ties for children and youth and opened Hamilton's very first Boys and Girls Club in the northeast end of the city. BGC Hamilton-Halton now draws more than 4,000 children and youth from across the city and operates in multiple locations to better meet the needs of families in diverse neighbourhoods. In addition to the BGC Hamilton-Halton on Ellis Avenue, services are provided through multiple neighbourhood sites, which include EarlyON Centres, Sanford Club and Roxanne Club. Before and after school programs, child care, and our Let's Get Moving after school program are offered in various sites and elementary schools in Hamilton.

📚Stories have the power to spark curiosity, learning, and imagination!

Recently, our Parkdale BASP participants had the opportunity to take part in a special storytelling experience hosted by our community partners at Telling Tales. Children enjoyed an engaging read-aloud of All the Water on Earth by Rochelle Strauss, paired with interactive, multi-sensory activities that explored the importance of water and the role it plays in our everyday lives.

Through storytelling and hands-on learning, participants were encouraged to ask questions, think creatively, and deepen their understanding of the world around them. 🌎

To make the experience even more memorable, each child received their own signed copy of the book to take home and enjoy with their families. 💚

We are grateful to Telling Tales for creating meaningful literacy experiences that inspire a love of reading and lifelong learning in the children we serve.

At BGC, we celebrate and honour the cultures, histories, languages, contributions, and resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Turtle Island. We are committed to ongoing learning, reflection, and creating spaces rooted in respect, inclusion, and community.

We encourage everyone to take time today to learn, listen, celebrate Indigenous voices, and reflect on the importance of Truth and Reconciliation.

🌳 Get Outside Day was a great reminder of the power of outdoor play and exploration!☀️

In recognition of Get Outside Day last weeknd, which is celebrated annually on the second Saturday of June through the O2 Project, our participants spent time outdoors discovering nature, staying active, and enjoying all the benefits that come with spending time outside.

From exploring the natural world around them to engaging in active play, outdoor experiences help children and youth build confidence, creativity, curiosity, and connections with both their environment and one another. 🌱🐞

At BGC Hamilton-Halton, we know that some of the best learning opportunities happen beyond four walls. Whether it's a walk through a local park, a game with friends, or simply taking time to appreciate nature, getting outside supports physical health, mental well-being, and social connection.

We were proud to celebrate Get Outside Day by encouraging our participants to unplug, explore, and enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer! 💚
