Haley brings excitement, encouragement, and a strong sense of teamwork to BGC every day. No matter where she is working within the Club, she makes a genuine effort to know every member by name, helping create meaningful connections and a true sense of belonging. She is intentional in ensuring that members feel heard, valued, and respected in every space she enters, and her presence helps set a positive and welcoming tone throughout the Club. Haley is often seen walking through the halls with a big smile, consistently showing up as a caring and reliable positive adult for our members.

Each summer, Haley plays an important role in our Girls Sport summer camp, where she passionately champions keeping girls active, engaged, and confident in sports. Through her encouragement and leadership, she helps create a supportive environment where participants feel empowered to try new things, build skills, and grow both on and off the field. Many members return year after year excited to see Haley, a testament to the lasting impact she has on their experience. Her positive attitude, energy, and enthusiasm for programming help draw members into the Club and inspire them to learn, grow, and participate fully.

🏃‍♀️ Ready, set, MOVE! June is here, and BGC Hamilton-Halton is proud to kick off the ParticipACTION Community Challenge presented by Novo Nordisk!🎉

At BGC, getting active is already part of what we do every day—but this month, we’re turning things up a notch through our Let’s Get Moving and rec. programs with extra activities, challenges, and opportunities for members and families to get moving together. 💪

Throughout June, members will:
⭐ Bring a friend to experience Let’s Get Moving
⭐ Complete fun physical activity challenges with parents and loved ones at home
⭐ Help us see which of our school communities can be crowned the “Most Active School Community”🏆

From sports and games to movement challenges and family fun, we’re excited to celebrate the joy of being active all month long!

A huge thank you to ParticipACTION for supporting our Let’s Get Moving program and helping children and youth build healthy, active habits for life. 💚

Marlyn is the Supervisor at our outreach locations, known for her amazing programming and being the queen of setting up welcoming environments and providing unwavering support for all children and staff she interacts with. Marlyn goes above and beyond in all she does to ensure each individual who walks through the doors feels valued and is able to be themselves. Whether Marlyn is leading programming, supporting members to meaningfully engage, or coming up with a creative way to ensure the work she does is fun and connects to community needs Marlyn leads with intention and so much care.

Katherine is a valued member of our recreation team. She brings joy, fun and creates a safe space wherever she goes, from leading our Skate the Dream program to facilitating at our various outreach sites. Katherine brings positivity and encouragement to all members she interacts with, always creating environments and opportunities for our members to push themselves and try new things. With her calm and consistent approach, Katherine has excelled at building strong relationships with our members and their families in order to better support them in all they do at the club.

Thank you to Lococo’s for being such an incredible community partner to BGC Hamilton-Halton!🍎

Throughout the year, Lococo’s helps support our programs by supplying fresh produce, and we’re especially grateful for their continued generosity during special events like Club Day. Once again, they are donating food items to help make this year’s celebration a success, and we truly appreciate their ongoing partnership and commitment to the families and young people we serve.

A little sweetness is coming to Club Day! 🍭

A huge thank you to Dr. Roy’s Woodworking & Renovations for generously donating and serving cotton candy at our upcoming Club Day on June 5th!

After helping make last year’s event extra special (and sweet), we’re so excited to welcome them back for another fun-filled community celebration. 💚

We hope families, supporters, and community members will join us for an exciting day filled with activities, connection, and fun as we celebrate the amazing young people and families in our community.

There’s nothing quite like learning together 🥟

At our recent Parent Education Lunch & Learn program at the Sanford EarlyON Centre, families rolled up their sleeves to learn how to make beef dumpling soup, exploring different dumpling-folding techniques and creating something delicious together along the way!

Children were excited to try something new, and parents enjoyed discovering simple, fun ways to bring cooking into the home. Experiences like these help build confidence in the kitchen, strengthen family connections, and create lasting memories.

We love hearing feedback from families like:
💚 “You always have fun and learn recipes for parents and children.”
💚 “I never thought of making dumplings with my children at home. Now I know the easiest way!”
