Isaac knew exactly what Joseph was carrying, because five months earlier he had been carrying it himself.
He had spent years on the streets of Uganda's Wakiso District, caught up in drugs. But at an Ignite Event, hosted by a ShareWord Global partner church, he was introduced to Jesus and his life turned around.
Not surprisingly, when that same church went out into the community to share the gospel five months later, Isaac didn't hesitate to join them. He wanted others to experience the same hope he had.
At a busy trading centre, he stopped at Joseph's fish stall. It didn't take long for Joseph to admit he was struggling. A drug addiction and ties to witchcraft had left him feeling trapped, with no way out.
As well as anyone could, Isaac understood what he was going through, so he opened a Hope magazine and told Joseph about the love of God. He then asked the same question someone had asked him: "Do you want to receive Jesus in your life?" Joseph said yes.
Today, Joseph serves in the church where Isaac became a believer months earlier. Two men who once felt hopeless now point others to Jesus, all because someone shared the gospel with them.
