As this upcoming walk is a community event involves members from all levels of Government, we invite everyone to show their support and today at branch 622 Battlefield Creek Stoney Creek Legion. We had the honour of having NDP leader Marite Stiles, attend and present our President Stewart Jones with a certificate of recognition for the 100 year anniversary of the Legion.

I also got to speak to Dundas MPP Sandy Shaw, who attended today’s event to show her support, not only to our Legion but also to the Canadian Walk For Veterans walk happening here in Hamilton.

I can’t go without saying thank you to NDP supporter Monique Taylor, who has always been at our Legion and has always supported our Veteran and military events.

Thank you to Stu Jones being our president and keeping our legion going. With the help of our new military cataloguing student, Avery, our Legions medals in military history will now be recognized.

I’ve gone to so many of these Military Appreciation games and proud to see our men and woman in uniform and the veterans in the stands cheering the hometown team on.

For anyone wanting to actually know where they’ll be walking this year this is this year site map of our walking path.

It’s a very scenic and flat route so anybody can participate and take their time and no rush. We want everyone to come out enjoy themselves and know that they are there doing their part raising funds to assist our veterans within our community.
