It's time to send an email to Hamilton City Council and Clerk! The Elfrida Builders want Council to approve their low density sprawl (yellow areas on the map) 'secondary plan' to develop 3000 acres of prime farmland in Elfrida at the Aug 25 Council meeting. Hamilton already said NO to any urban boundary expansion but Doug Ford's PC Party has changed the rules to now allow privately initiated urban boundary expansion applications. Let's remind Council to vote unanimously to DENY this sprawl plan on Aug 25!

Hamilton has a $5.2 BILLION deficit on repair and replacement of our existing infrastructure. That's why our roads are bad, our rec centres are closed, our libraries are leaking. More sprawl will only add to that deficit because sprawl doesn't pay for itself.

👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿 We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Councillors who voted NO to cost recovery Urban Boundary Expansion fees for developers, have ensured that Hamiltonians will now pay those processing fees. Item 6 on the Jan 30 Council Correspondence list.

Thanks to photographer Kyra Paterson for more great shots, and to everyone who showed up, signed up, donated, honked, helped out at the rally in Dundas on Sunday to tell Conservative MPPs Donna Skelly, Neil Lumsden and Monica Ciriello that they should stand up to Mr. Ford and say NO to his proposed Conservation Authority Mega-Merger, a scheme they say will "get shovels in the ground faster". We're pushing back on development on wetlands and floodplains, and loss of local CA knowledge and expertise!
