Every week, donated kitchenware arrives at our Etobicoke warehouse. Plates, mugs, pots, cutlery, can openers, mixing bowls, kettles. Our team sorts, cleans, and assembles them into Kitchen Kits, ready-to-use sets that go out with every family receiving furniture from us.
A Kitchen Kit is not a gift bag. It is dinner on day one. It is the difference between someone unpacking into a furnished apartment or staring at empty cupboards on their first night out of a shelter.
Here is what one kit holds: dishes and glasses, a full cutlery set, pots, a frying pan, mixing bowls, utensils, and the small things people forget they need — a can opener, a cutting board, a colander.
We need more of all of it. If you are decluttering before a move, upgrading your kitchen, or clearing out a parent's home, your kitchenware does not belong in a landfill. It belongs on a family's table.
