We had an amazing weekend celebrating the 140th anniversary of The Salvation Army in Charlottetown, PEI. We kicked off our time in PEI with a concert that even included a monologue from General Evangeline Booth! (See the 4th pic)

On Sunday, we were blessed to participate in the morning worship service where we played as a band and some of our members also led worship. 🎶

Thank you Charlottetown for your hospitality and warm welcome this weekend, and congratulations on 140 years of ministry with many more to come! ❤️

"The best laid plans of mice and men..."
Today saw the second gathering of the Halifax West Band for a summer rehearsal and social at a band member's home.
This event was well attended and meticulously planned. Everything was going great until an unexpected rain shower forced everyone inside. To make matters even more challenging we were huddled in a demolished kitchen undergoing renovation.
Undaunted, we relocated our prepared foods inside and all 30 of us gathered tightly together in the construction zone, protected from the downpour.
Inspite of the abrupt change, we enjoyed delicious foods and "close" fellowship.
Band member, Sarah Clark hosted an awards ceremony and presented novelty trophies to several members for such marks of excellence as, being first to arrive for rehearsals and church, the human metronome, and spirit of encouragement award, to name a few.
We were also treated to a couple of local choruses sung by Salvationists from Nigeria, Charles and Victoria Offong and family.
In the end, it was an enjoyable evening and one that will be remembered as much for the unplanned events as for the planned ones.

On Saturday, August 22nd, members of the Halifax West Band will gather at this backyard location for an afternoon-evening of rehearsal, BBQ and a backyard fire with fun activities. This will be a great time of food, fun and fellowship and also a great way to start preparing for the coming year of musical ministry.
More pictures to follow in the coming days. 🙂🎺

During the weekend of September 26th & 27th, the Halifax West Band will be the invited musical guest at the 140th anniversary of the Charlottetown, PEI Community Church. We consider this a great honor and are looking forward to sharing in musical ministry and worship.
The band will be hosting a musical concert of celebration on Saturday evening at the church and participating in morning worship on Sunday.
If you can attend on either of these occasions, we would love to see you there.
