We produce, present & develop original Q***r theatrical work. In addition, we present fully realized work through our seasonal programming.

We are particularly interested in supporting emerging artists and new work through our annual festival OutFest.

We have a very BIIIIG announcement to make!

Our team is about to embark on what is no doubt our most ambitious project yet. A project that will hopefully create an impact across Nova Scotia. This is something that has been stewing for awhile, waiting for its moment.

Now, the time has come.

This project feels bigger than launching a festival and then moving that festival across the country. But just like both of those initiatives, there is already a lot of support behind this one, and we can't wait to see what comes next.

- May Board Meeting -

This past weekend Artistic Director Isaac Mule and the Page1 Theatre Board held our latest board meeting. We discussed a number of important topics:

- OutFest (final budget, attendance, sponsorships, partnerships, and 2027)

We also have THREE very EXCITING announcements - we can't share everything right now...but we can share a little bit.

- An expanded Presentation Series to support more artists
- More Financial Support for artists
- An upcoming performance

We are hoping to announce more information about the expanded Presentation Series THIS WEEK, so check back in on our social media. We'll also be making other announcements soon, including when submissions for OutFest 2027 will open. Our team is very excited to share what we have been working on.

We. Are. Back!

Q***r-prov returns with a new home at STARDUST!

We are so excited to bring our improv comedy show to a new venue. This mid-week show is not "mid", in any sense of the word. There will be belly laughs. There will be music. And A LOT of Q***r joy.

We've added a bunch of NEW GAMES, including a few to get audiences up on the stage.

More feedback!

We wanted to share more positive feedback from OutFest this year.

Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts with us. OutFest is a year-long project, from curating the lineup, reading through submissions, seeking funding, and more. We are so proud of what we have accomplished and we look forward to continuing to bring you a diverse, and rich lineup of Q***r work.

Feeling proud!

We are still going through the feedback & compiling all the post-festival data, however, we wanted to take a moment to share this beautiful note we received.

Over the years we have worked very hard with Tourism NS & other partners to grow the festival so that we can find new audiences. To know we are reaching folks outside of Nova Scotia...outside of Canada...is very humbling. Last year we also had several visitors from Maine travel to OutFest.

This feedback also highlights why we need to invest MORE into Arts & Culture and NOT LESS.

This is a direct example of what can happen when folks travel to Nova Scotia to attend artistic or cultural events. There is a ripple effect that benefits many different businesses and sectors.

- SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS -

Following every festival, we like to send out a post-festival survey. This is a great way for you to share your feedback on what worked well and how we can improve the festival.

DID NOT ATTEND?

That's ok. You can still complete our survey. The first two questions are for folks who did not attend the festival this year. By understanding barriers you may have faced, we can hopefully work towards addressing them.

For those that did attend, the survey will take anywhere from 2 - 5 mins and is completely anonymous.

The form will remain active for two weeks before being closed on Friday, May 15.

BEEP! BEEP!

Our first ever South Shore Bus Trip was a BIG success. Several folks bussed into Halifax from both Lunenburg, and Tantallon to join us at OutFest.

The bus dropped everyone off near the Makers Market, where they shopped local, and supported Q***r businesses. Then folks made their way to the Bus Stop Theatre for the final SOLD OUT performance of "F*cking Trans Women," by Zoe Comeau.

This event helped us raise $200 which will be donated to both organizations to help support rural Pride initiatives.

A huge THANK YOU to both St, Margaret's Bay, and Lunenburg Pride for helping to promote the event, check folks in on the bus, and make this possible. Thank you to the Province of NS for helping support this initiative, and to our Sponsor - Chester Playhouse. Thank you for making this happen. We could not have done it without your support.

Our plan is to bring the Bus Trip back again next year - did someone say Party Bus?!

Thank you Kayti at Different Folks!

Our second annual Makers Market was a BIG success this year. The market took place directly downtown at the Halifax Brewery Market, featuring 30+ local makers. Folks arriving via our South Shore Bus Trip even arrived early so that they could explore the market as well.

We want to give a HUGE shoutout to Kayti for organizing all the vendors, contacting the venue, and helping make this years market a big success.

We also want to say thank you to everyone who donated to OutFest. We were able to raise over $150, which can be used towards the market next year.
