Did you know? When someone switches from a fossil-fueled vehicle to an EV, or chooses an EV over an FFV, it helps to bring the price of gas down for everyone else?
Basic Econ101 supply & demand dominates international fossil fuel prices, so whether it’s someone here at home or across the world every EV represents less demand for gas & ultimately lower prices. So even if you refuse to drive an EV yourself, it’s in your best financial interest to encourage others to do so, or at least not to discourage them.
In addition to your best financial interest, someone else choosing an EV is also in the best interest of your health, the health of your family & friends, and your children’s future chances of living a safe, healthy, and prosperous life.
People choosing EVs bring down other costs too:
* heating fuels
* taxes spent on healthcare
* taxes spent on climate-related disasters & mitigation
…& others that are less obvious:
* the price of electricity (because EVs add largely off-peak load, spreading the same fixed costs over more kWh of sales)
* the price of road maintenance (because just delivering fuel to gas stations for the life of an FFV damages our roads as much as a lifetime of driving an EV …& EV fuel delivery causes no road damage)
