Proud moment for the Nepalese Society of Nova Scotia (NSNS)!

We were honoured to participate in the Provincial Volunteer Awards Ceremony and showcase our beautiful Nepali cultural items.

It was a wonderful event hosted by the Province of Nova Scotia to recognize and celebrate volunteers from across the province.

Thank you to Kalyan Mahat and Tensa Bajgain for representing NSNS at the ceremony. A heartfelt thank you to Shushila Banskota, Rupa KC, and Sunuja Adhikari for providing the cultural dresses and display items.

Let's continue to promote our Nepali culture wherever we are and stay proud of our rich and diverse roots. 🙏

The Art of Living Foundation

On behalf of the Nepalese Society of Nova Scotia, we would like to express our deepest thanks to Suseela Vankamamidi and the Art of Living community in Halifax for their incredible kindness and generosity.
We were deeply touched to learn that Suseela, in her late 70s, personally made over 150 samosas by hand to support the victims of the recent flooding in Nepal. Her hard work, dedication, and warm spirit are a true inspiration to us all.
Thanks to Suseela and the volunteers from Art of Living Halifax, $640 was raised and transferred to our account today. We will be forwarding the full amount to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund in Nepal.

Thank you to everyone involved for your generous hearts and support when it was needed most.

With deep gratitude,
Nepalese Society of Nova Scotia

Our GoFundMe has reached $6,613 as of September 1, and we will be closing the fundraiser this Sunday, September 6. You can also choose to donate directly to the Nepal PMO Disaster Relief Fund, either now or even after our GoFundMe is closed.

If you can, please make a final donation or share the fundraiser with your friends, family, colleagues, and workplace so we can reach as many people as possible before we close.

Thank you to everyone for your trust, generosity, and support. Let’s come together as a community and stand with Nepal.

Thank you to everyone who joined us tonight at the Citadel Hill Town Clock.
Whether you shared a message, offered a hug, or simply sat quietly with us, your presence meant so much. As we grieve the loss and devastation caused by the floods back home in Nepal, gathering together brought comfort, strength, and hope.
Thank you for standing with our families, honoring those we have lost, and showing the true meaning of community. ❤️
