Spark conversations about disability employment for National AccessAbility Week and beyond! ✨

CASE - Canadian Association for Supported Employment partnered with the Centre for Community-Based Research to better understand the employment journeys of persons experiencing disability. We interviewed 15 job seekers and employees with diverse experiences with disability and employment in Canada to learn their perspectives. What makes employment harder, and what works?

We also spoke with two industry associations, ECO Canada and Tourism HR Canada, for employer perspectives around disability inclusion in the workplace.

One thing from the research was clear: lack of knowledge about disability is one of the biggest barriers.

It's National AccessAbility Week! Did you know that the biggest employment barrier for persons experiencing disability isn’t the disability – it’s other people’s lack of knowledge about disability?

To address knowledge gaps around disability and employment, CASE is excited to share Sparking Conversations, a resource kit with stories, social media graphics and text, video links and materials. Use this resource kit to spread awareness and start conversations around disability and employment.
