The Grainery Food Co-operative was established in 2001 and has been operating in Halifax for over 20 years. We are a registered non-profit and a volunteer-run organization dedicated to making local and organic food affordable and available to our communities. We strive for a membership that includes people of diverse backgrounds and identities. We operate a small storefront at 2385 Agricola St. th

at is open a few days per week, based on volunteer capacity. You can also find our products at the Halifax Brewery Market's Neighbourhood Goods Store or place a pre-order on our website. Pre-orders are placed once per month and available for pick-up at our Agricola St. store.

~The Grainery is located within the unceded, ancestral territories of the Mi'kmaq people. The specific region where we operate is known as K'jipuktuk - 'great harbour'. In our work, we hope to contribute to decolonization by opposing capitalism and building community in its place.~
