The Halifax Pride Parade simply doesn't happen without volunteers.

Every year, hundreds of volunteers help make one of Atlantic Canada's largest celebrations possible. Whether you're welcoming participants at registration, supporting the parade route as a marshal, or helping with destaging after the last float rolls through, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe and successful event.

Getting involved is easy. Apply, complete a short training, and sign up for the shifts that fit your schedule.

We’re thrilled to announce that Fae Johnstone will be serving as Halifax Pride’s 2026 Pride Ambassador!

Fae is the Executive Director of Q***r Momentum, a national advocacy organization powering q***r political action across Canada. An award-winning activist, sought-after public speaker, and frequent voice on 2SLGBTQIA+ and progressive issues in Canadian media, Fae is helping shape conversations about equality, justice, and inclusion across the country.

After relocating to Halifax last fall, Fae has quickly become part of our local community while continuing her work on the national stage. We are excited to welcome her as this year’s Pride Ambassador and celebrate her first Halifax Pride Festival as a resident of Kjipuktuk/Halifax.

Throughout the festival, Fae will be joining us at a number of events, sharing her insights and experiences with our community. She will also have the honour of leading the 2026 Halifax Pride Parade on Saturday, July 18.

For more information about Fae, go to halifaxpride.com/ambassador
