Halifax Pride Halifax Pride is a non-profit organization dedicated to producing a 2SLGBTQ+ Pride Festival. AIM: An equitable society free from all forms of oppression.

Halifax Pride Festival July 14-24, 2022


The Halifax Pride Society is a not-for-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to producing a Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Pansexual, Q***r, Questioning, Two-Spirit, and Asexual (LGBTTIPQQ2SA+; herein referred to as 2SLGBTQ+) Pride Festival. PURPOSE: To create spaces for persons of diverse sexual and gender identities to come together

and flourish. GUIDING PRINCIPLES:
Community: a sense of belonging and connection. Self-expression: being one's true authentic self without fear or judgement. Growth: continually unlearning oppressive social constructs and structures to reimagine and rebuild a system that will champion all voices. The Halifax Pride Festival is a celebration which draws in more than 120,000 participants and one of Canada's premier pride celebrations. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

On our page, we welcome and encourage differing opinions but ask that users respect the community and its individual members. We will do our best to keep these pages appropriate but reserve the right to remove content if posts contain any of the following:

- Anything that is discriminatory, sexually explicit, obscene, libellous, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive or hateful

- Anything that is embarrassing or offensive to another person or entity

- Fraudulent, deceptive or misleading material

- Any materials that constitute spam or sends people to competitor sites

Posts found to violate the above Posting Rules may be removed at Halifax Pride's sole discretion.

We are still accepting volunteer applications for the 2026 Halifax Pride Festival!

Volunteers help make the festival as fabulous as it can be, and there are a variety of roles volunteers can take on. No experience is necessary, but a short training session is required.

Halifax Pride volunteers get
-Free transit during the festival
-Free admission to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and the Museum of Natural History during the festival
-Discounts at the Halifax Pride merch tent
-Water, snacks, and meals during shifts
-Free tickets to a Wanderers FC game
-Chances to win fun prizes and gift cards
-Volunteer hangouts before and after the festival

Join us for a Q***r Movement Townhall - a gathering of q***r activists and allies coming together to rekindle hope and rebuild the movement.

2SLGBTQIA+ rights are under attack and we need to take action. Freedom, human rights, and democracy itself are at stake. To respond to these crises, we need to engage all parts of the q***r movement - one community and one conversation, at a time.

That’s why we are bringing the movement together through townhall events across Canada - including one right here in Halifax. This gathering is a wake up call, a rallying point. We’re going to bring joy back to the q***r movement — with love, humour, rage and defiance too.

PRIDE LIVE is a brand new addition to Halifax Pride in 2026 and a first look at the energy we’re building toward for Canada Pride in 2027.

Headlined by Toronto's RALPH, known for her sleek mix of synth-pop, disco, and soul-inspired dance music, the night will also feature Burry, Good Dear Good, MINOE, Mayaya, Mango Street Trio & Wuzzo.

What a night!

Thank you to every contestant, judge, host, performer, volunteer, sponsor, and audience member who made the 2026 Atlantic Pride Pageant so special. The talent, creativity, and heart on that stage reminded us exactly why this event continues to grow.

A huge congratulations to Randi E.rogenous, our newly crowned Mx Canada Pride 2026. We cannot wait to see you represent Halifax Pride through the year ahead as we continue the road to Canada Pride 2027.

To every contestant who stepped onto that stage: thank you for sharing your artistry, vulnerability, and vision with our community. You made the night unforgettable.

And to everyone who packed the theatre and cheered all night long, thank you for showing up so loudly for q***r art and q***r joy.
