✅ Position: The Campus Pub Security Staff

✅ Hours: Evenings, ocassioal weekends - 10-15 hours per week
✅ Wage: $14.35 per hour (increasing to $14.60 an hour in October 2022)
✅ Term: September 5 - end of pub operations in April 2023

Security staff at the MSVU Campus Pub will be responsible for enforcing rules and policies that are designed to protect the University liquor license and promote safety and security within the Campus Pub. As security staff, you will provide access control in an environment with a mixed-use liquor license, ensuring minors and those of legal drinking age are identified and monitoring patrons to ensure minors are not served alcohol, and that those of legal age are not purchasing for minors.

Requirements:

Security staff must be able to pass an enhanced criminal record check. This is a mandatory condition of
employment. As a front-line member of the Pub team, the following skills and attributes are desired:

- Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 5 hours) and be mentally alert during their scheduled shifts;
- Prior security and/or enforcement experience would be ideal, as would an individual with strong customer service experience;
- The ideal candidate is observant and has strong attention to detail and their environment; this is normally complemented by strong verbal communication skills;
- Knowledge or familiarity of NS liquor requirements within a pub or bar environment is expected and required and will be refreshed upon hiring;
- Security staff should be firm and assertive, but also respectful of the space and those who use it, many of whom come from different backgrounds and intersectional identities;
- Must be enrolled in at least one (1) course during the Fall and Winter terms;

Position: Elections Coordinator

The Students’ Union Elections Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the organization, promotion and ex*****on of the Mount Students’ Union elections. The position reports to the VP, Communications.

Compensation: the Elections Coordinator will be paid an honorarium of up to $300 following the Fall By-Election and an honorarium of up to $600 following the General Elections AND upon completion of final reports on the electoral period.

Some responsibilities and duties include:
- Compile, create, and ensure that election packages are ready for distribution for the set nomination period and are available for pick-up at both the Rosaria HUB
- Ensure that the elections information on msvusu.ca is updated and that all online components including forms and downloadable packages are ready for the opening of nominations
- Oversee the elections process including: Arrange and conduct the All-Candidates Meeting following the closing of the nominations period, Be available to answer candidate questions and approve campaign materials during the campaign period, Approve all candidate campaign materials.

Requirements:
- Be enrolled in at least one class per academic term
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Be able to deal effectively with difficult situations and individuals and work in a fast-paced environment
- Be an organized and initiative-driven individual able to multi-task
